Chief Experience Officer


Mario is a digital strategist, storyteller and multidisciplinary designer with an eye for innovation. As Chief Experience Officer, Mario is responsible for curating and maintaining the user interface design of Mediaspectrum’s products and services, and overseeing the visual interactions between the organization and its various audiences.

Prior to joining Mediaspectrum, Mario served as president of Garcia Interactive where his focus was helping companies navigate the quickly evolving digital media landscape and making their digital products more effective. In a career spanning nearly twenty years Mario has worked as a consultant with more than 300 organizations around the world (The Wall Street Journal, Parenting Magazine, JP Morgan Chase and Volvo to name a few) sharing his expertise in audience engagement, user experience, interactive design and content development. His work has been recognized by the Society of News Design, FOLIO, the Pacific Area Newspaper Publishers’ Association and the Local Media Association.

Mario speaks, blogs, teaches and trains in the areas of multiplatform storytelling and user interface design, sharing his passion for all things digital and has served as an Adjunct Professor at the University of South Florida School of Mass Communications.

He is a graduate of Loyola University College of Law and The University of South Florida where he received a B.A. in Mass Communications and was recently named the 2013 School of Mass Communications Alumni of the Year for his contribution to the media industry.
